Grothman & Associates, SC has an immediate opening for a Professional Land Surveyor to join our team.

Grothman, founded in 1988, is a Portage, Wisconsin based Land Surveying, Civil Engineering and Land Planning firm with a strong reputation for providing the highest quality of service to our clients in the public and private sectors.

We are looking for an experienced Professional Land Surveyor to conduct and supervise field surveys and ensure the quality and accuracy of Grothman’s survey work under his/hers supervision. A Grothman PLS’s responsibilities will also include calculating land boundaries in several locations and creating maps and reports of survey results for clients. This role requires hands-on experience with a variety of Land Surveying instruments and knowledge of GPS and GIS systems.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct surveys on land sites and properties
• Examine previous records and evidence to ensure data accuracy
• Research and design methods for survey processes
• Use equipment and tools to accurately measure land features (e.g. longitudes, latitudes)
• Build maps, sketches, and charts
• Supervise and provide guidance to field and junior surveying staff
• Report on survey results and present findings to clients 
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, architects and regulatory agencies on a variety of projects.

Requirements:

• Active PLS license in the State of Wisconsin with no disciplinary actions on record
• 5+ years of focused and verifiable experience as a Professional Land Surveyor
• Aptitude in math and problem-solving
• Attention to detail
• Good organizational and leadership skills
• Proficiency in the use of current state of technology Land Surveying instrumentation such as robotic total stations and GPS units. Knowledge of Leica instrumentation and software is a plus.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D and surveying software packages is a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical or 4-year degree in Land Surveying
• Valid driver’s license is required
